Description

In 1978, Tissot created a quartz model that featured a slim case, narrow indexes and a steel bracelet. Its wide, horizontal lug, typical of the time, was perfectly integrated into the flat, tonneau-shaped case.

A few years later, Tissot registered the name PRX. “PR” stands for “precise” and “robust”. The “X” stands for the Roman numeral ten and the pressure of 10 bar, which corresponds to a depth of 100 meters, to which the watch remains waterproof.

In 2021, Tissot presented the new PRX as a modern interpretation of the previous model.

The Tissot PRX's 316L stainless steel case has a diameter of 40 mm. It has a slight tonneau shape and is adorned with a narrow, round bezel. On the sides, vertically brushed, rounded finishes alternate with polished facets.

The Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 is equipped with a honeycomb motif dial combined with nickel-plated indices and hands. The lines of the case extend directly into the bracelet without the use of the traditional horns. Its most striking feature is its series of large links that cover the entire width. Its flexibility and suppleness make it a real success in ergonomic design and provide an extraordinary wearing comfort. The satin finish on the outside is carried out just as carefully as the polishing of the inside surfaces.

The hands of the Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 have a SuperLumiNova® coating and are placed one above the other with only a very small gap. This allows the dial to be brought closer to the watch crystal. The optical effect achieved by the Tissot designers makes the watch case appear even flatter and slimmer than it actually is.

The watch has a scratch-resistant, anti-reflective sapphire crystal and a mineral glass display back. Its Swiss Made automatic movement with a power reserve of up to 80 hours is equipped with a Nivachron balance spring, which is known for its outstanding magnetic field security.

This version of the Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 has a blue dial with indexes and a 316L stainless steel bracelet with a butterfly clasp with pushers.
